Look at the breadboard diagram. Connect your battery wires as shown on the diagram.

First, connect the battery wires (red and black wires with a connector for the battery) as shown on the schematic. As you learned above, batteries come with a (+) and (-) side. By default, the red wire will be the (+), and the black (-).

Batteries are usually connected on the side of a breadboard – or “rails” – but in practice you are free to put it wherever you want.
